If you’re looking to bring the best stroller for beach vacation, then you should look no further. In this article, I’m going to give you 3 models to choose from. But before that, you need to be aware what really makes a specific stroller optimal for strolling the coast.

In general, what you will need is a stroller that won’t get stuck in the sand. A jogging stroller is the best type for this activity, however, not all of them can traverse the sand well.

BOB Revolution Flex is a very popular option and is one of the best joggers that we recommend, but it has some restrictions that may affect your vacation experience. Personally, I’d go for Baby Jogger City Mini GT.

In the next sections, we will help you identify what you really need and hopefully you can easily decide which one to bring with you.

BOB Revolution Flex 2016

BOB Revolution Flex 2016 ReviewBob Revolution Flex 2016 is a well-designed jogging stroller. It is, in fact, one of the more popular models because of how smooth it is to push.

This jogger has large all-terrain tires which work well on uneven surfaces. It has shock absorbers that make the ride smooth for your child even if you going through rough terrain. You’ll have no trouble pushing BOB Revolution Flex on sandy beaches.

It has a very durable frame which can take a beating without getting deformed. This is an important factor if you’ll be traveling by plane or train.

However, If you’re planning to go shopping, this jogger is just too bulky. It most definitely will not fit between the aisles of most small shops. It is also quite a challenge if you’re going to stay in a place where you need to climb up or down the stairs a lot.

Barring the restrictions above, BOB Revolution Flex 2016 is your best choice if you want a heavy-duty, monster truck of a jogging stroller. It also has a double jogger version in case you have twins or have another child to bring with you.

Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight

Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight ReviewJoovy Zoom 360 Ultralight is a great alternative to BOB Revolution Flex. It has a more classic design and sells for a much lower price point.

This jogger has an aluminum aircraft-grade frame which makes it both lightweight for a jogging stroller, and very durable. It can also accommodate kids who weigh up to 75 lbs, making it a great choice if your child is 5 years and older.

The big all-terrain tires are not only perfect on sandy beaches but work great on sidewalks and rough pavements. It is easy to push and has a large canopy to keep your child safe from the sun.

Joovy Zoom 360 is not as bulky as most joggers, but can still be quite a challenge to bring with you when you go shopping. It may not be as compact as the next jogging stroller on this list, but it has premium features that are very affordable.

Baby Jogger City Mini GT

If you find most jogging strollers too bulky and heavy, then Baby Jogger City Mini GT is what we recommend to you. As a matter of fact, it weighs 10 lbs less than most joggers.

City Mini GT is what I would consider as a hybrid jogging stroller. It combines the best of almost all types of strollers. It has an extra-wide canopy like an umbrella stroller, small compact wheels like a regular stroller, and all-terrain tires of a jogger.

The big canopy will help shield your child effective from the sun. You can easily push this on the beach hard sand. The small wheels may be a great feature in making it compact, but their size doesn’t work well on very fine sand.

If you have plans to go shopping, or will need to travel around the area, Baby Jogger City Mini GT is your best choice. It weights 22.5 lbs only and is almost as compact as a regular stroller. You can also fold this jogger easily in one hand.

Beach-Friendly Stroller Buying Tips

Ideally, you should bring a stroller that works well with the specifics of your vacation. It is not a good idea to adjust your itinerary to accommodate it.

We have already sorted out that a jogger is a lot better than a regular stroller. Regular and umbrella strollers are not built to traverse uneven pavements, let alone the beach. However, the jogger also needs to have the following qualities:

  • Must be designed for all-terrain use
  • Should be lightweight
  • Must be durable

Wrapping It Up

Joggers with all-terrain tires are the best stroller for beach vacation. Regardless of which one you choose on the list, or if you decide to get other models, you need to keep one thing in mind. You need to lock the front wheel in place when pushing on the sand.
